ACA Student Poster Session - Orlando, 2011

We are indebted to the following for their generous support of the ACA Student Poster session in Chicago:

**International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychology IACFP

**North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents NAAWS

**Northern Illinois University NIU-ACA,

Here are a few of the highlights.

This year, the SAC combined student papers with highlights of ACA student chapters to emphasize how active they are. The winning graduate paper was from Paola Baldo from the University of Illinois/Chicago (UIC). But, the student chapter posters "stole the show." WITC, (Wisconsin Indian Head Technical College) was granted student chapter status at the convention, at the Graduate level, and their poster highlighted their activitities and corrections curriliculm. TheNorthern Illinois University(NIU) highlighted its chapter's events,

as did UIC, with an exceptionally active year. Western Illinois University (WIU), also awarded ACA student chapter status at the conference, also brought t-shirts with its poster. The students were excited to share their poster information with each other and met new people.

Curious conference attendees came and went for three hours, and some studied them intently. After the poster session, the posters were moved to the vendors' exhibit hall for viewing by all conference attendees.
There were also receptions, the inevitable committee meetings, and time for relaxing and meeting new people.
Students had a chance to meet Jennifer and Gloria from ACA staff and NAAWS respectively, who are long-time supports of students. Mike and Wayne sort through their bag of items given away in the exhibit hall, and we had plenty of time for dinners, and nobody left hungry.

We're all looking forward to the January ACA conference in Phoenix and getting together again and meeting students from other chapters.
