Because one of ACA's goals is to promote higher education in corrections, as well as attracting college students to our field, the ACA has created the Student Affairs Committee. It is our mission to provide college students interested in a career in corrections with the opportunity to attend ACA bi-annual conventions and conferences. We believe that many potentially interested students do not attend these functions simply due to financial constraints. Part of our mission is to expose potentially interested college students to the unparalleled professionalism and networking opportunities found at ACA conventions and conferences. To facilitate this, we are seek the support of sponsors and donors. Our committee has set extremely modest goals for student sponsorship. We would like to sponsor at least 10 college students to attend the each Conference, held twice a year by paying each student's registration fee of $50.00. Further, we would like to provide cash prizes to the top three finalists in the Student Poster Session. The goal for the sponsorship of the cash prizes is $500. With your help, we believe these goals to be reasonable and obtainable. There are also other ways in which sponsors can support students, including providing journal subscriptions to award-winning students, donating vendor products for the student Poster Session at ACA conferences, or other creative support. In return, we will include your name among the recent sponsors on the ACA-SAC homepage and can provide a space at the Poster Session for literature about your organization, school, or company. If you are interested in supporting students, here is more information.
