The NIU student chapter of the American Correctional Association sent six members to the August convention in Charlotte. Two of the students took top places in the student poster paper competition. Will Mingus (left) won second place at the graduate level for his poster presentation on The Music Man, on the political rhetoric of sex offender legislation. Eric Westphal (right) and Frank Cecchinnelli (not shown) won first place in the undergraduate competition for their paper and poster presentation on the NIU-ACA's trip to the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola in April.
