1. First official CJS event
a. Tuesday, November 18, 2008
b. We have raised enough money for pizza and pop
1. Thank you to those who contributed to the event fund
c. Paola will be making pamphlets that will be available to students who are interested
d. Brian Tierney is taking care of placing the order and organizing the food for the event
e. Matt Brice is presenting a brief speech on the Society's mission, goals, and opportunities
f. There will be a sign-up list for additional people who want to join the Society.
g. Carolina will be bringing her camera to document the mxer and pictures will be posted on the website
h. There will be a chance for members and potential members to discuss ideas and possible events we can do
2. Monday is Karaoke Day at Student Center East and he has volunteered to sing and also announce the CJS event.
3.. ACA Student Chapter
a. One of the goals of the Criminal Justice Society is to become an ACA Student Chapter
b. Organizing for ACA membership including dealing with deadlines, fees, applications, etc. will be our next objective
c. Joining the ACA may provide additional distinction on resumes, applications, etc.
4. Next meeting will be Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 3:30 PM
a. This meeting will partly serve as an assessment meeting.
